THE METALSMITH

Caitlin’s passion for jewelry and the arts started at a young age which led her to a major in Studio Arts from the University of Denver. Her introduction into jewelry design and production started while studying abroad at Studio Arts Center International in Florence, Italy where she took her first metalsmithing class. It was love after the very first class.

From there her newfound passion took her to Boulder, Jackson Hole and back home to Aspen, CO to work for established jewelry designers. After working in the jewelry world for many years Caitlin started her own company, Caitlin Dunn Jewelry, in 2012. 

She lives in Aspen with her husband and two young children. They love to spend as much time outside as possible - skiing, hiking, mountain biking, playing tennis, going for long walks and running around the parks for hours!

THE STUDIO

The Caitlin Dunn Jewelry studio is a working studio and showroom. Caitlin designs and produces each piece of jewelry by hand in her cozy, sun filled studio. Once the jewelry is created it is then carefully curated and displayed for shopping. Walk-ins welcome, appointments encouraged!

the process

Caitlin uses a variety of techniques in her jewelry collections. From basic bead stringing to hand forging and soldering metals to wax carving and lost wax casting - each piece is hand made by the artist making each unique. The collection is made with Sterling Silver, 14kt Gold-filled, 14k & 18k Yellow Gold, Bronze and is then accented with precious and semi-precious natural stones. Environmentally friendly practices and recycled metals are used whenever possible.
